Mahogany Urban Poetry series is the longest running urban culture venue in sacramento....we are celebrating the close of another year by bringing you Miss Lakeisha Mondy, Anthony Coleman, and Cole Dutcher and their live music set. If you've never heard Miss Mondy, you are in for a treat!! She just returned to the U.S. after touring in Japan and overseas, and she's back to make it happen for us at Queen Sheba....

This Saturday, come check out Kevin Sandbloom at our newest venue, Sekou's BBQ!!
455 bercut drive (right off the i-5 richards blvd,near the old Rusty Duck restaurant)

doors will open at 9pm, and we will have the live show. After the show, stay for DJ AMP ONE and dance the night away. While you are in the building, sample some of the great food they have at Sekou's..my suggestion would be the bottomless wings or the Red Snapper,but the whole menu is rockin!

Soul on Sundays presents: fo'shang!

Thanks to all of you who came out last week for Soul on Sundays..I'll be the first to admit that it truly was one of our better showcases despite some setbacks.

My apologies to those of you who came out expecting to see a showcase featuring me and my brother Terry. Although it wound up being a great show,with lots of great performances, Terry decided to bail out on the process of planning and executing the show(he only brought one artist and he had promised 5), and wound up coming just for the beginning of the showcase. He then bailed out and went to a concert at Thunder Valley .Everybody has their priorities...and family sometimes isn't always high on the list.

Nonetheless, we had Chris Jones, our live band, Yvette Gauff, Ifamodupe, Nsaa, and a bunch of other artists that stepped onto the stage and ripped it to shreds...

This Sunday, we are going to continue in the tradition of having great shows....fo'shang, a poetry band featuring poet Vincent Kobelt,will headline and rock a set for us. We will also have open mic, and of course the football game will be playing in our upstairs VIP lounge....
